From Graphic Designer to UI/UX: My Creative Journey
Hi, I’m Shah, a designer making the leap from graphic design to UI/UX design. With over a decade of creative experience, I’m excited to bring my skills into the digital world.
For 11 years, I worked as a graphic designer at a printing company, designing table calendars and notebook planners for major clients in industries like banking, insurance, automotive, construction, and overseas markets. This role taught me to create designs that are both practical and visually appealing, always keeping the end-user in mind.
I realized that designing calendars and notebooks has a lot in common with UI/UX design. Both require understanding customer needs, crafting practical yet creative layouts, and working within production limitations to ensure the final product is perfect. This connection inspired me to explore UI/UX further.
My passion for creative work and my curiosity to learn new things drove me to dive into UI/UX—and even a bit into front-end development. I’ve picked up tools like Figma, along with the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and built this portfolio site as a result. It’s been an exciting step in my journey!
Beyond design, I also enjoy 2D animation and video editing, skills that let me tell stories in fun, dynamic ways.
